Bye, Bye Broadband

Greetings Friends, Family, Visitors and Stalkers,

TRUCK UPDATE
I saw our truck tonight. It is in the shop with it's engine torn apart. I mean almost everything under the hood except the main engine block is pulled out. The cylinders and pistons are visible. The cam shafts are sitting on a work bench. It was very interesting to see. I would post a photo but I don't have any. Perhaps I will try get some photos for posterity sake. Imagine your spouse with a gaping hole where their face should be, that is almost how I felt looking at our truck tonight.

So I handed over a $650 check for the rebuilt engine head which some company in GA had. God willing we will have our truck back and working in tip-top shape by next Friday, 11/17. And the savings account continues it's decline.

BROADBAND
Our cable internet is being disconnected 11/9. We will not be paying anymore $52/month internet bills. We are now signed up for a blazing slow dial-up account for the next 6 months ($68 total for that!) This was the first of major cutbacks and belt-tightening going on in the Martin household. Our goal is to begin saving as if we had a vehicle loan payment for a bigger vehicle.

MY GIRLS
A~ is now walking. Wifey says she has taken 4 steps without assistance. She is able to stand on her own.

M~ is in the midst of potty training and seems to have some desire to use the toilet. For weeks we tried only positive reenforcement but last week Wifey had to resort to punishment b/c GreenBean was deliberately messing her training panties. We are seeing progress now. She continues to be rewarded for going on the potty. Tonight GreenBean completed a 24 piece puzzle on her own for the first time. I continue to be delighted at her ever increasing vocabulary and grammar.

It's looking like I'll be home this Saturday so maybe I'll get a chance to post photos here and on Flikr.
