Baby Sleeps 6 Hours... at Night!
I though it was pretty nice that Baby Brother slept "all night". Then again, I'm not much of a help to Wifey between the hours of 11pm to, well, irm, 6pm. I did most of the dishes last night. I give baths 3 nights a week. I put GreenBean to bed (often without a bedtime story). Ask me why sometime.
Last Friday I found myself waiting in line for a pony ride with "Spinner" (aka GreenBean) at a local, Christian bookstore. The pony ride was for her and she wasn't actually standing in line; I was. Spinner was rolling down a short, grassy hill with a large percentage of the other hundred or more kids attending the free event. There were repeated warnings / suggestions that she be careful running.
All of a sudden as I'm watching her run up the hill, she decides not to roll down, BUT RUN!
(Oh no, she's gonna trip on the edge of the parking lot...)
I didn't even have time to finish the thought and try to reach her. When her feet hit that asphalt her momentum was still going down but the hill had leveled out. She threw her arms up to catch her self and did a "just stole third base" head first (literally, ouch!) slide on the parking lot.
Bruise on forehead
Scraped, bleeding swollen lip
Scraped, bleeding right forearm
Scraped palms
Scraped, bleeding right knee
When we returned home later that evening I decided to skip the valuable physics lesson on the "Conservation of Momentum" and suggested that she think about how to stop before running down anymore hills. She told me that she would not be running down that hill again!
I wonder if my parents had to tell me very often to "look where you're going!", "look up!", "don't run!", "pay attention to what's happening around you!"
