Truck's Fixed

Our mechanic called me this evening at 1930 and said I owe him ~$1100. Yesterday he called me and said he had it all fixed but that the alternator died while he was test driving it Saturday evening. Sigh. I feel like this truck is cursed. Maybe it is because it says "THE BEAST" on the tailgate?

I thank and praise the Lord for his goodness and blessing.

PARENT/BABY DEDICATION
This past Sunday we dedicated A~, aka "Screamer", to the Lord in front of our church. It is a significant commitment to me and I was glad our families made the sacrifice to be there to support us. Thank you for being there. We love and appreciate you and are very thankful for the stable, Christian, family heritage we are now a part of.

In 1 Samuel 1, we read about a mother who vowed to give her son to the Lord's service if only He would bless her with a child. Hannah fulfilled her vow to the Lord by dedicating her son Samuel at the temple in Jerusalem. "So they worshiped the Lord there."

Like our marriage vows, our public commitment to raise our children, specifically A~ yesterday, was done before God, the body of Christ (his church) and our families. We have vowed to raise her in the fear of the Lord, striving to set a genuine example of Christian living, according to the principles found the Scriptures.

To be clear, nothing spiritually significant happened on A~'s behalf during or as a result of this dedication. She was not "saved" by what we did. She was not sprinkled or baptized. While the Bible teaches that salvation is available to every person, each individual must personally accept that gift by first acknowledging that they have offended the God of the universe and then ask for his forgiveness. A~ is not of age to understand this.

Sorry I missed it Sunday. Did she spit up up front like Spinner? I guess I am glad that I didn't buy your truck, even though I never could. I hope that works out for you. When am I seeing you over Jesus' b-day?

We were glad to be able to be there too. God bless your vow as you strive to remain faithful to it.
The meal was great too.
