SNOW, PATIENCE & HEAT

We woke up to ~ 2" of snow this morning. Thankfully we were able to get to church half way through the Sunday School hour. This left enough time for me to get my voice warmed up a little while reviewing and preparing to lead the opening worship block. I think I stink at leading worship and would much rather be a musician or running sound. Wifey said I did fine except for some stammering. I was glad to be able to help.
Wifey is upstairs singing the 12 Days of Christmas to GreanBean. She usually spends 30-60 minutes trying to get her to sleep for an afternoon nap. I would not have the patience for that. I say rock her for 15 minutes then put her in her crib. Yesterday GreanBean was helping Wifey make cookies.

Our house has baseboard electric heat. Our last electric bill was ~$120 for an average temperature of 45 F (the bill said). I know our next bill is going to be closer to $200. Our 2x4 exterior walls along with kinda junky replacement windows aren't as efficient as I wish they were. Wifey and I were talking yesterday about getting our chimney inspected/cleaned so we could burn some would in the fireplace. I think I might get an estimate on the chimney and find out how much a chord or two of dried, split wood costs. It would help us feel warmer. Next year, though, I want to get a coal stove and put it where the fireplace is. Hopefully.
