Martin Christmas 2005

It was different Christmas for us here in Germansville and our families. We are"stuck" at home (by the doctor's order) until January. The baby was to stay home for a month. So, Wifey is "wearing thin" from staying in the house so much. GreanBean and I managed to get to church yesterday for the last half of the Christmas service. We came home and opened the gifts under our humble, free (thanks Mom), artificial, Charlie Brown, Christmas tree. GreanBean had fun and Wifey was quite surprised with her gifts.
Then we helped prepare a yummy Christmas dinner: spiral cut ham, whipped potatoes, candied yams, corn, and cheese filling. It was delicious. Since I have had vacation I've been trying to help Wifey around the house; cleaning up the dishes and vacuuming.

GreanBean and I have been spending fun times together. We went shopping and out for lunch on Friday. For some ludicrous reason I drove us to the mall to eat at Chick-fil-A. The LV Mall is OK but there is no food court so the four eating places are always packed. We showed up at 1245pm and of course all the tables are full. So after we ordered and received our food we stood at the counter and waited for some seats. There were two cups full of sugary beverages on our tray that I was holding. Rather suddenly I saw a lady sitting by herself and moved to ask her if we could sit with her. My cup dove off the tray and crashed onto the floor at the feet of about a dozen people waiting to order their lunch. You can imagine my embarrassment. We eventually got to sit down and eat with Martha; who was very a nice lady. NOTE TO SELF: don't go to the mall for lunch between Thanksgiving and New Years.

Saturday (Christmas Eve) GreanBean and I drove to Palmyra and she got to spend the day with Grammy and Aunt Cheri. I finally got to visit Breakaway Farm to pick up our beef sampler pack. Ben found a deer leg in a snow pile and was contentedly chewing it while Nate was weighing our beef. Ben is a chocolate lab. My Dad came along and helped me pick up a recliner from Grandma and Grandpa Shelly and then we went to Lowes and got some lunch at BK. Thanks Dad.
